Why it matters

Content on the product page moves around while it loads ("layout shift"). Buyers try to tap a button and it jumps.

Layout shift is one of Google's Core Web Vitals. Beyond the SEO hit, it is deeply frustrating on mobile: you go to tap Add to Cart, an image loads above it, the button jumps down, and you tap something else instead.
